Synopsis: The 1925 version of The Phantom of the Opera is considered one of the best films of the silent movie era. The true story is that many tensions rose between members of the studio, cast and crew during production of the film. This is their story. From complications with the head of Universal, Carl Leammle (Hoffman), to the discontent between the director (Strathairn) and the film’s actors (Branagh, Holmes, DiCaprio), as viewed by the cameraman (Philippe), to the hiring of new directors (Black, Streep), the conflict and drama of making this acclaimed film is put on the silver screen once again.
