Synopsis: Ryan Murphy tells the story NY city cab driver Q. Lazurus who gets the break of a lifetime when her song good bye horses is used prominently in the film "The Silence of the Lambs." Her career never reached those heights again and it was back to driving cabs for Q. It is now 15 years later and Q. Lazurus in a last ditch effort is trying to restart her music career and hires an indie documentary filmmaker named Hackett to follow her around for a week as she promotes her new album.

Over the week we learn about how Q. started out and how a feud between her and folk singer Tracy Chapman began. Q. claims Chapman was riding in the back of her taxi and was listening to Q. complain about her life and wrote down everything she said and eventually turned it into the Grammy winning song "Fast Car." During the documentary all major cast & crew on Silence of the Lambs decline to be in the documentary. Q's only true friend is NY bus driver Marley, who at the time is in the middle of a lawsuit against Nike and Michael Jordan, he claims that since he looks so much like Michael Jordan that he has been harassed for 20 years, and is hoping to reach a settlement of $350 million.

At the end of the documentary we learn Q's album has failed, and that she is going blind in her left eye meaning she must retire from cab driving for good.

What the press would say:

Ryan Murphy has created one of the strangest movies of all time. An obscure song turned into a basis for an entire movie. IT WORKED! This is one of the most original American comedies. Whoopi Goldberg hasn't given a performance of any caliber since "Ghost", and it's wonderful to see her back to her comedic form. This is an incredible cast whose supporting players chew the scenery up. Chandra Wilson's 10 minute cameo as Tracy Chapman is brilliant and should be remembered come Oscar nominations. Louis Gossett Jr. is this years comeback story, his comedic turn as a bus driver who has no resemblance to Michael Jordan is hysterical and is definitely a front runner for the best supporting actor Oscar. Co-star Christopher Walken hands in another terrific performance but may be overshadowed by the showier roles played by Goldberg, Gosset Jr. and Wilson . The Academy prospects look strong for this movie. As original as this film is unfortunately it may be to hip by Academy standards and will probably be overlooked for Best Picture. Look for nominations in the following categories.

Best Director: Ryan Murphy
Best Original Screenplay: Ryan Murphy
Best Actress: Whoopi Goldberg
Best Supporting Actor: Louis Gosset Jr.
Best Supporting Actor: Christopher Walken
Best Supporting Actress: Chandra Wilson
Best Original Score: Carter Burwell Best Cinematography Best Film Editing
