Synopsis: The mafia is defined as a secret criminal organization, which originated in Sicily that spread to mainland Italy and the United States as well as other countries. These organizations are involved in international drug dealing, racketeering, gambling, and prostitution. Two of the most dangerous mobs are the Italian and Russian mafias. Antonio Familie is the boss of the Italian mob and when his sister, Maria, is raped and murdered by the problematic son, Alex, of Russian mob boss, Victor Moscowerish, trouble arises. Mixing Families tells the story of the aftermath of Maria's death and the revenge the Italian mafia will have on the Russian family business.
What the press would say:
This movie is the Godfather meets Gangs of New York and the Departed. Joe Pesci is back out of retirement playing the role that he does the best at the boss' sidekick. Al Pacino has taken many years off from mafia films and now is back with his best performance dueling out with Gene Hackman. The movie is very graphic, but moving and brings two of the most well known Sopranos to the big screen. Mixing Families is a true masterpiece about revenge and life lessons. Without a doubt, it is the best movie yet this year.
