Synopsis: Starting in the year 1973, when Henry Kissinger is promoted from National Security Advisor to Secretary of State, “Kissinger” shows the life of the former Secretary of State in his prime. Serving as Secretary of State for both Nixon and Ford, “Kissinger” explains the life of Henry Kissinger for all those who didn’t know him. The film shows his interactions with his wife, Presidents, Vice-Presidents, Chiefs of Staff, foreign heads of State, as well as White House lawyer John Dean, the first person to accuse him of war crimes, reporter Christopher Hitchins, and his pre-marriage actress girlfriend Jill St. John. The film finally comes to an end in 1977, as Dr. Kissinger leaves office.

What the press would say:

From director Martin Scorsese (Oscar Bait Award winner-“Carter” and nominee-“Madame Prime Minister”, “Wild Strawberries”) comes the much buzzed “Kissinger”. Rush is perfect as Kissinger and captures every bit of his likeliness. So does Meryl Streep as his wife, as they both lived with the Kissingers for a month before filming started. After a surprise lost to John Lloyd Young in July, Jack Nicholson is back as Richard Nixon and is phenomenal! Ed Harris and Judi Dench are also expected to be Oscar contenders as Gerald Ford and Golda Meir. As Oscar season is just starting “Kissinger” hopes to earn nods in these categories.
