Synopsis: She inspired a country. She was a role model to all women a-like. She formed a friendly but intense rivalry with aviator Charles Lindbergh (Krause) for which the media dubbed her, "Lady Lindy". After establishing herself as a renowned pilot, and breaking numerous aviation records, Amelia Earhart (McAdams) set out to circumnavigate the world with experienced navigator, Fred Noonan (Thorton). The flight turns ill-fated as the plane disappears somewhere over the Pacific Ocean. Devastated by her disappearance, Amelia's friend and financer, George Putnam (Hoffman) hires her former bodyguard and one time lover, Nathan Heller (Eckhart) to unlock the mystery. His quest becomes emotionally taxing when he finds out of her affair with Noonan while interviewing his apathetic wife, Josephine (Lilly). But his devotion and curiosity keep him going as he is taken prisoner by Japanese officials in Saipan. There, he hopes to find out the truth, or risk his life trying.

What the press would say:

Never has a film been put together so masterfully than "Lady Lindy". An adventure/mystery of mammoth proportions. Acclaimed writer/director Robert Benton (Kramer vs. Kramer) teams up with Robert Towne (Chinatown) to bring to life Max Allan Collins (Road To Perdition) fictional take on the disappearance of Amelia Earhart, played by the energetic Rachel McAdams. A dramatic epic dressed in film noir. Benton and Towne take their characters on an emotional ride, never letting up until the truth is out. Don't be surprised to see "Lady Lindy" fly home safely to Oscar gold.
